Translating Hegel into Slovenian

Abstract

After a brief outline of the present situation in translating German Classical Philosophers into Slovenian, the paper reflects on general lessons that may follow from author’s experience as a translator. First, the paper discusses some Hegelian instructions on why and how to translate a philosophical text; it then highlights some peculiarities of translating Hegel (and Kant) into Slovenian; finally, it considers the eventual benefits of reading Hegel through translating his works.
