L’errore di Cartesio e il gergo di Damasio
Abstract
Antonio Damasio deserves confirmation and support in his task of eradicating Descartes’ error, and overcoming a dualistic account of the mind-body relationship. Bennett and Hacker have leveled an extensive critique against the jargon of many neuroscientists (Damasio included), that implies Cartesian dualism. I take up Bennett and Hacker’s criticism of the mereological fallacy, the pretended brain images and the reification of consciousness. But instead of analyzing language, I use it and try to suggest, phenomenologically, new ways of seeing and interpreting research in neuroscience through Gestalt and systemic approaches.
